FAQs for Group Leaders

Can this be a day trip or an overnight experience?

Yes-either one. We build both day trips and overnight experiences based on your goals, your timeline, and what makes the most sense for your group.

Can you plan around a fixed date, competition, or event?

Absolutely. If your group is traveling for a tournament, convention, campus visit, performance, or other scheduled event, we can build the rest of the trip around that anchor.

What do you need from me to start planning?

The best place to start is a quick 15-minute planning call. Great trips start with a good conversation, and we want to hear your goals, your group’s needs, and what kind of experience you want students to come back with. If you already have the basics-dates, destination ideas, group size, or budget-that’s great too. We can start there and build from it.

How far in advance should we start?

Earlier is always better. Many student trips start 6 to 9 months ahead, and bigger or more customized trips often begin even earlier. Planning early usually means better availability, better pricing, and more time for families to pay without stress.

    What group sizes work best?

We can work with a wide range of group sizes. Once we know your approximate student and chaperone count, we can recommend the best trip style, pacing, and transportation setup for your group.

Will you customize the trip for our group?

Yes. Every Orange Sky trip is built around your group’s goals, interests, learning priorities, and schedule. We do not believe in one-size-fits-all itineraries-because your group is not one-size-fits-all.

    Can families pay online?

Yes. Families register and make payments through our secure online system, which keeps things simple, organized, and much easier for everyone involved.

Do you handle parent payments and questions?

Yes-and group leaders are very glad we do. We handle parent payments, trip questions, and key communication directly, so you are not stuck chasing money, forwarding emails, or playing middleman. That means zero financial risk for you and a smoother experience for families.

Do you offer fundraising or donation support?

Yes. We offer personalized donation links for travelers, group fundraising support, and bulk payment options for PTAs, booster clubs, and school partners. Every little bit helps, and we want participation to feel more possible for more families.

    Is pricing transparent?

Yes. We believe families should know the full price up front. Our pricing is designed to be all-inclusive and transparent, without surprise add-ons later in the process. Each trip is also broken down into installments. Clear communication builds trust, and we take that seriously.

Who supports the group before and during travel?

Orange Sky does. We help with planning, itineraries, payments, logistics, and communication before departure, and our team supports groups during travel so educators can focus on students instead of trip-day details. We like to say: you lead the group, and we join you from beginning to end.

What if this is my first time planning a student trip?

That’s completely okay. We work with first-time group leaders all the time. We’ll help you think through timing, pacing, family communication, and the details that can feel overwhelming at the beginning. You do not have to have it all figured out before you call.

    What happens if plans change?

Student travel always has moving parts, so we stay flexible, communicate clearly, and keep things moving when changes come up. In other words: we adapt with grace and keep the trip experience as smooth as possible for your group.
